Land of the Incas: A 7-Day Peru & Machu Picchu Journey by Hyperport DMC

Every now and then, a travel itinerary stops being a schedule and becomes a story. The Hyperport DMC Peru journey is that kind of trip. Over seven days, your clients move through 3,000 years of Andean history — from the colonial spires of Lima to the sacred geometry of Cusco's stone streets to the moment of arrival at Machu Picchu, when the clouds part and the citadel appears exactly as it has for centuries.

This is Peru done properly.

Sample 7-Day Itinerary

  • Day 1 — Lima: Arrive in the capital. Private transfer to boutique hotel in Miraflores. Afternoon orientation walk through Barranco, the city's bohemian arts district. Welcome dinner at one of Lima's celebrated cevicherías.

  • Day 2 — Lima → Cusco: Morning flight to Cusco (3,400m altitude — acclimatisation day built in). Guided walk through the city: Plaza de Armas, Qorikancha sun temple, San Blas neighbourhood. Gentle first afternoon to help the body adjust.

  • Day 3 — Sacred Valley: Full-day Sacred Valley excursion — Pisac Incan ruins and market, Ollantaytambo fortress, traditional weaving communities. Overnight at Sacred Valley lodge, optional pisco tasting at sunset.

  • Day 4 — Aguas Calientes: Train descent to Aguas Calientes (also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo). Afternoon at leisure in this small cloud-forest town. Overnight stay to position for an early-morning ascent.

  • Day 5 — Machu Picchu: Early bus to the citadel for sunrise entry. Three-hour guided tour of the Incan ruins — temples, terraces, and the iconic Intihuatana stone. Option to hike Sun Gate (Inti Punku) for panoramic views. Return to Cusco by afternoon train.

  • Day 6 — Cusco: Free morning for independent exploration or optional cooking class. Afternoon visit to the salineras (salt pans) of Maras and circular terraces of Moray. Final evening dinner in Cusco.

  • Day 7 — Cusco → Lima → Departure: Morning flight connection back to Lima for international departure.

Signature Inclusions That Set This Apart

  • Private guides throughout (not group tours) — personal, immersive, and fully flexible

  • Sacred Valley lodge stay: secluded, architecturally extraordinary, and locally owned

  • Reserved sunrise entry to Machu Picchu — avoids the late-morning crowds

  • All transfers private, including train upgrades on the Cusco–Aguas Calientes route

  • Daily cultural briefings to add context to each site

Perfect For

Adventure-minded couples, cultural travellers, honeymoon pairs looking for something more meaningful than a beach resort, and small family groups with older children or teenagers interested in history. Also particularly well-suited to clients who have "done the Caribbean" and are ready for a trip that challenges and moves them.

Customisation Options

  • Extend to 10 days: Add the Colca Canyon (one of the world's deepest) and the floating islands of Lake Titicaca for a fuller Peru experience

  • Shorten to 5 days: Focus Cusco, Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu for clients with limited time

  • Upgrade accommodation: Move to Belmond Sanctuary Lodge (directly at the Machu Picchu entrance) for the ultimate luxury tier

  • Add the Inca Trail: For active clients, a 4-day guided trek to Machu Picchu replaces the train journey with an unforgettable physical accomplishment
